About Chip Bach
I have had the privilege to manage Turfway Park, one of the five Thoroughbred race tracks in Kentucky since 2011 as Turfway Park/Newport Racing & Gaming\'s GM. Owned by the premier thoroughbred racing entity, Churchill Downs Inc, Turfway/Newport has over 400 team members, horses on the grounds, and hosts a major Kentucky Derby prep race (The Jeff Ruby Steaks). Prior to the GM role I had served in Operations, Human Resources, and other executive positions for Turfway Park. Prior to my twenty years at Turfway Park I spent six years as a director of technical training in the computer industry and worked in the risk management function. I was born in Chicago IL, moved to central Kentucky during elementary school, graduated college from Eastern Kentucky University, and moved to the Boston area to start my career. I have been married to a New Hampshire gal since 1993. Kendra is a vice president of commercial lending for Wells Fargo. We have twins born in Nick is attending Loyola of Chicago and Emma is attending Miami University (Oxford OH). Emma is also a captain of their equestrian team. There isn\'t a more interesting sport to be involved in than horse racing in Kentucky. Wonderful animals, talented professional athletes, and strange and lovely cast of characters.
