ABOUT ANDREW GIBSON

Currently, I am working with a talented team at the Ministry of Education, to support the delivery nutritious lunches to students across New Zealand. Prior to this role I worked to improve residents’ experience in aged care. Primarily supporting kitchen, laundry, and housekeeping staff in Ryman Healthcare villages in New Zealand and Australia. I have studied microbiology, travelled while working in hospitality, cooked in restaurants, served in bars, and worked my way up to roles in FMCG retail management. Mistakes should be expected if we are trying to learn and grow. The way to make the most of a mistake is to acknowledge it honestly, apologise sincerely, and then support the team so that it can be rectified and learned from.Kindness is the most important value any organisation can have.Everybody deserves to have a wonderful life. I love food (mostly because it is an unparalleled way to create great experiences). I am fascinated by science and how things work, and my job energises me. We can learn much from everyone, especially when people have lived more. Outside of work, my thoughts and energy are directed toward creating great experiences for my wife, daughter, family, friends, and myself.I am mediocre at playing guitar, which makes me happy.Countries I have visited so far are, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Australia, USA, Tahiti, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Spain, and FijiThe countries I want to visit next are Mexico, Croatia, Finland, Turkey, South Africa, Portugal, Morocco, and Brazil.
