About Zoe Collins
Dr. Collins is a licensed psychologist whose career spans over 20 years as a direct service provider, educator, consultant, and clinician in neuropsychological and diagnostic assessments. She currently divides her time between her private practice and serving as psychologist for board and care homes serving adults with developmental disabilities. In her private practice, Dr. Collins uses traditional and cutting edge techniques to provide psychological evaluations to an ethnically and neurodiverse population of children, adolescents and adults with behavioral and neurodevelopmental conditions. Through partnership and collaboration, Dr. Collins’ assessments help her patients better recognize and understand their emotional and intellectual life within the context of their given family and culture. As part of each assessment, Dr. Collins provides a detailed picture that includes resources, referrals and recommendations as to the most effective treatment and services. Additionally, Dr. Collins has taught graduate level courses and served as an associate training director to encourage upcoming providers to serve a diverse group of individuals in a compassionate and ethical manner. She provides mentorship, supervision and consultation to pre and post-doctoral and licensed psychologists in the area of assessments. Today, Dr. Collins is a volunteer supervisor for the Wright Institute in Berkeley, mentoring graduate students as a way to encourage more people to enter the assessment field.

My assessment practice is dedicated to providing psychological evaluations for children, adolescents and young adults.A psychological evaluation is a collaborative process designed to help an individual and the important people in their life recognize things about themselves and their world that are not always easy to see or understand. The assessment process is helpful for understanding the emotional and intellectual life of an individual within his or her given family and cultural context. Services include a screening to determine if a more thorough assessment is warranted, a full scale assessment, including test of intelligence to determine academic potential, the collection of observational and interview data to incorporate into assessment findings, personality assessment of the individual to best understand functioning in their environment and the development of highly individual recommendations. The tests that are utilized are culturally and developmentally sound to understand strengths, weaknesses, and barriers to growth. The final report distills in print a complete picture that describes an individual at this time. It offers insight into how he or she looks at and engages with the world. The report can serve as a roadmap for determining what interventions should be utilized and in what environment the individual will perform best.
