ABOUT YOHANNES ADAMA MELAKU
Dr Melaku is a nutritional epidemiologist investigating how diet influences cardiometabolic health, cancer, mental health, cognitive function, and longevity. His research aims to strengthen the evidence base and support targeted prevention strategies using causal inference, advanced epidemiological methods, and applied data science.He currently holds an NHMRC Emerging Leadership 1 Fellowship (2022–2026). His research program integrates causal inference and machine learning to derive dietary patterns and estimate their effects on health outcomes using large cohort and population-based datasets.
