ABOUT MISTREL FETZER BOEGHEIM

Mine geologist & PhD student, concurrently working at Lynas Rare Earth\'s Mount Weld operation and researching heavy rare earth (HRE) mineralisation and processes in carbonatites. Key industry competencies; grade control and rare earth stockpile management, mining, diamond, RC and grade control drilling program management, QA/QC, modelling and assay interpretation, emergency response team training, carbonatite ore characterisation and logging methodology.Key research competencies: heavy & light rare earth mineralisation in carbonatites and peralkaline rocks, general carbonatite mineralogy and characterisation, alkaline fluids and weathering processesl am a curious and passionate geologist who is dedicated to a high standard of work. I am very passionate about rare earth geology and geological communication. I believe in the power of applied research and constantly seek to understand how industry and academia can better serve one another. Inspired by Australia\'s developing rare earths and critical minerals future, I have a passion for the development of rare earth ore bodies and am deeply driven and excited to be a part of the up-and-coming rare earth metals industry.After completing a Bachelor of Geology with Distinction at James Cook University, I achieved a first-class honours thesis studying rare earth alkaline rocks at the University of Adelaide. I now work at a first-class rare earth mine based in WA, Mt Weld and am simultaneously exploring the HRE potential of the Mt Weld carbonatite via higher degree by research. I am a grateful recipient of the 2018 QCoal Foundation Scholarship as well as the AusIMM 2021 EEF Scholarship which supported me through my undergraduate and honours degree.
