ABOUT YOGESH KUMAR

As a passionate and driven Technical Director of Structural Engineering at Beca, I bring over three decades of experience in managing complex structural engineering projects. Beca proudly stands as a premier Asia-Pacific professional services company headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. My expertise encompasses the design and analysis of industrial and commercial buildings, covering an array of sectors such as water and wastewater treatment plants, defence facilities, port and wharf structures, pulp and paper mills, metal mining plants, food and beverage plants, petrochemical sites, and electrical substations. In addition, I have completed numerous Initial Seismic Assessments and Detailed Seismic Assessments for existing buildings.Collaborating with clients across both local government and private sectors in New Zealand, my leadership and motivation skills enable me to exceed client expectations, delivering results on time and within budget. My construction management experience allows me to create efficient and cost-effective designs.I possess valuable skills in managing multidisciplinary design teams, fostering seamless collaboration on projects with significant interface with existing elements and equipment.Throughout my career, I have been an active member of various committees and associations, including SESOC Management Committee (20••••19), SESOC Conference Organising Committees (2012, 2014, and 2017), SESOC Executive Committee (Membership Secretary, 20••••19), IPENZ Wellington Branch Chairman (20••••09), and Engineering New Zealand Wellington branch committee Treasurer. I am proud to serve as a CPEng Structural Practice Area Assessor.Since 2017, I have held a position in the Engineering Stakeholder Advisory Group for the Open Polytechnic of NZ, showcasing my continued commitment to the engineering community.
