ABOUT VIRAJIT VIRU GARBHAPU
Driven by a lifelong passion for technology and telecommunications, my journey began as a curious child dismantling a 90s telephone, captivated by its potential to connect people. Today, as a Research Engineer specializing in Optical Networks, I channel that same curiosity into innovations. At Huawei, I focus on enabling distributed AI training over optical networks, with a mission to reduce latency, optimize power consumption, and design scalable architectures. My expertise extends to integrating Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) into optical systems and developing impairment-aware network planning tools with advanced physical layer modeling. Additionally, I have a strong track record in optimizing DWDM system power to enhance capacity while maintaining reliability and leveraging machine learning for failure management in optical networks.
