Engaged as a regulator to conduct audit quality reviews (AQR) at audit firms across NZ. Primarily responsible for:a) Application of financial reporting and auditing standards-Reviewing the audit files in accordance with the requirements of FMA\'s methodology, ensuring that the standards have been appropriately complied with and identify, evaluate and conclude on issues of non-compliance.b) Project management-Completing the file and the firm\'s review within the allotted time frame, agreed with the audit teams.c) Reporting and communication-communicating effectively both verbally and in writing for the in-depth discussions with the audit team, for formal queries, for challenging key judgements and for presenting and/or defending potential findings. Also, presenting the review conclusions to the moderator audit committee at the FMA.d) Relationship management-Undertaking meetings with audit engagement partners and other leadership members and communicating factual findings in a fair and balanced manner, which involves influencing the audit team through demonstration of the technical merits of the finding raised.e) Monitoring audit quality systems-performing a review of the controls and systems within the audit firm, designed to monitor and implement audit quality and ethical requirements as per the requirements of ISQM 1.
