ABOUT TOM ZMYSLO

Prior to Tom joining United Health Group, he held a position with JLL as a VP Projects / Team Lead on the United Health Group Account leveraging his 20 years of Healthcare Experience on the clinical platform. His primary focus was on the Optum Care platform of clinical projects and had overall responsibility for all project phases including direct communications with local business clients on the clinical side. In between Tom\'s 2 stints with JLL serving United Health Group (20••••21), he further expanded his resume serving Franciscan Health (Tonn & Blank Construction) acting as the lead Senior Program Manager on a ground up replacement hospital. Services included facilitating the master planning, full design efforts, and focus on job setup including overall budget and schedule mgmt. Other experiences with Franciscan Health (Tonn & Blank) included full demolition and decommissioning of an existing hospital campus and campus consolidation efforts.Before joining JLL in April 2015, Tom also acted as an Owner’s Rep / PM for large healthcare systems including the Cleveland Clinic and IU Health. His role was specific to project mgmt leadership on a major ground up project for the Cleveland Clinic and several projects within multiple hospitals across IU Health. Focus of these projects covered a wide range of critical healthcare service lines including: Surgery (In-Patient, Out Patient), Rad/Imaging, ED, Oncology, Rad Oncology, Family Health, Pharmacy, Ortho, Physical Therapy, Cardiology, and Central Plant (Facility Services). Key accomplishments from this experience included building and organization of project teams, executing on project goals including scope, budgeting, schedule, developing relationships among several cross functional teams within large complex healthcare systems, and responsibility for overall project phases including planning, design, construction, owner equip, transition planning, and facility activation.In addition to Tom’s experience managing healthcare projects on the owner’s side, he also carries experience managing healthcare projects in a lead role from the GC and CM side. This also included delivery of projects and building on strong client relationships for multiple healthcare systems including execution of a hospital master plan over a seven year period. Key accomplishments include onsite project team leadership, leading direct communications with healthcare client, owning the construction budget and schedule, including complete development and mgmt over project duration.
