ABOUT TJARK REBLIN
When we look at every human being as an individual with a distinct personal medical history and defining genetic makeup, we are able to help patients harness a drug’s ideal efficacy potential and avoid possible adverse reactions and suffering. Advances in the biomedical sciences and technology enable healthcare professionals and their patients to make better decisions. As a business strategist, my dual background as an MD and MBA has given me a unique expertise for creating solutions that meet the needs of patients and business. My professional experience spans continents and fields. After 8 years’ clinical work as an internist, specializing in intensive care medicine and cardiology, I moved into the industry’s medical affairs space over the following 11 years, intrigued by the journey every medication takes from bold scientific concept to regulated, real-world implementation. I then worked in drug safety and risk management at an executive level for the last 13 years at GSK, Roche, and CSL Vifor advancing and solidifying the benefit-risk profiles of medicines. I am currently heading up Global Patient Safety at Ipsen. As the leader of global teams, I am proud of the groups I have assembled and directed. There is nothing better than seeing the individuals I lead or mentor go on to achieve marvelous breakthroughs in science and industry. Through it all, an insatiable intellectual curiosity has compelled me to pursue more ways to contribute myself. I remain so eager to learn. I enjoy developing new strategies for providing patients with better medicines, better regimens, and better lives. What else can I do? That is the question that drives me.
