ABOUT TANNER HONE

I am a passionate School Social Worker/Therapist with a strong commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students and the education system. Holding a Clinical Social Work license in Utah, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my role. My journey in the field of social work began with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Utah Valley University. During my academic years, I was honored to serve as the elected student representative from UVU to the NASW-Utah board. This experience fueled my desire to advocate for the profession and inspire change within the field. Before my journey into school social work, I helped establish an after-school program at RISE Services in Utah County. As the program coordinator, I was privileged to contribute to RISE\'s mission of creating opportunities for and with people. I was later elected as the student representative for the entire state of Utah on the NASW-Utah Board during my MSW program. This opportunity allowed me to gain invaluable insights into the social work landscape and advocate for the interests of students and professionals alike. A highlight of my career has been my instrumental role in founding and establishing the Utah School Social Work Association, where I am honored to serve as President. This association serves as a platform to promote school-based mental health, advocating for the holistic well-being of students. I am deeply committed to expanding the reach and impact of school social work and continually strive to highlight the essential role we play in supporting students and communities. In addition to my association role, I actively participate in a few School Social Work Association committees. I have also had the privilege of attending the last two delegate assemblies, where I had the opportunity to contribute to discussions and decisions that shape the future of school social work. My passion for school social work stems from my belief in its transformative power. I am dedicated to promoting the awareness of what we bring to the world and how we can support the diverse needs of our educational communities. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and ensure that every child has access to the support and care they deserve.\"
