ABOUT ANTHONY ESTREET

I am an Entrepreneur and Senior Executive. One of my key mantras is to “stay agile & visionary”. I absolutely love what I do and this has guided much of my success within the social work profession. Here are a few quick highlights:Visionary Leader: Creative and innovative problem-solving has been integral to my success. Staying open-minded and thinking outside the box has resulted in the: •Successful launch and growth of two highly successful companies with consistent organizational & revenue growth•Recent launch of blacktherapytoday.com, a meaningful digital platform designed to elevate and amply the voices of black and brown behavioral health workers. Social Work Innovator & Thought Leader: As a prolific national speaker (35+ presentations) and social work advocate, I am enthusiastic about leading and influencing social justice issues within the profession. Some of my accomplishments include:•Publishing 40+ peer-reviewed journal articles on topics related to social work education, workforce development, and social work practice. •Co-chairing a national CSWE task force and publishing “Specialized Practice Curricular Guide for Substance Use Social Work Practice” which is widely used in social work programs. •Co-editing my first book entitled, Trauma and Mental Health Social Work With Urban Populations: African-Centered Clinical Interventions, which is the first of its kind to highlight African-centered clinical interventions in social work mental health practice. National Collaborator & Social Work Ambassador: I enjoy networking and collaborating across various industries. This has allowed for more robust discussions around creative strategies and opportunities to address social justice issues within the profession and beyond. A few notable examples of my efforts include: •I am the current Vice President of the Board of Directors for the NASW. My previous committee appointments include the Chair of ATOD SPS and the National Ethics Committee. •I co-chaired a leadership committee to develop and deliver an innovative national social work conference “100 social workers on the vineyard” which was highly successful. •I am the Founding President of the Baltimore Legacy Chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers. In short, I enjoy connecting with people and organizations to work collaboratively to create social change across professional sectors. Feel free to send an invitation to connect with me!
