ABOUT SUKANYA CHAKRABORTY
As a PhD student, my research is focused on investigating how the physical and chemical properties of food can influence the composition and function of the gut microbiome, and how these changes may in turn affect appetite and metabolism. Using an interdisciplinary approach that combines expertise in food science, microbiology, and nutritional physiology, my work aims to provide valuable insights into the role of diet in maintaining a healthy gut and balanced energy intake. Through my PhD studies, I aim to develop strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, which will allow me to design and conduct rigorous experiments, analyze complex data, and present my findings at scientific conferences. My dedication to advancing the field of gut-microbiome-metabolism interactions is driven by a passion for understanding the complex relationships between diet, gut health, and metabolic regulation. As I continue my PhD journey, I aspire to collaborate with other experts in the field, and potentially explore opportunities for postdoctoral work or academic positions. By making valuable contributions to the scientific community, I hope to positively impact public health by developing more effective dietary interventions for maintaining optimal gut and metabolic health.
