Actively manage litigation, regulatory matters, government relations, business transactions, labor issues, trade, and environmental compliance, Previously partner in the Litigation Department of Latham & Watkins, Washington DC Office, with practice in civil litigation, regulatory compliance, law and policy reform, and government-oriented advice and counseling (20••••21).Served as General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Energy (2014-17). Previously served on the White House Domestic Policy Council as Special Assistant to the President for Justice & Regulatory Policy (20••••11).Additional significant experience includes service as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, representing the United States in various affirmative and defensive civil litigation matters in federal courts (2006-10); chaired Law Professor at the University of Michigan Law School, teaching administrative law, regulation, civil procedure, torts, energy law, and specialized courses (1993 - present); and Council Member and Vice Chair and Acting Chair of the Administrative Conference of the United States (2015-16).
