The job involves planning, analysis, and processing of TD-GC-QTOF-MS data within the Laboratory of Experimental Medicine and Pediatrics (LEMP) in collaboration with the University Hospital of Antwerp (UZA). I am responsible for the daily operation of the device, calibration, maintenance, daily planning of experiments, and sample preparation. Additionally, I am in charge of writing protocols and SOPs for applications regarding the instrument. I work on preclinical and clinical research projects in the field of volatomics by assisting master\'s students, doctoral students, and postdoctoral researchers in processing samples and conducting analysis using the above-mentioned analytical equipment. The studies I support investigate the role of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as novel biomarkers for the early detection of pathogenic conditions like mesothelioma, irritable bowel disease, asthma, COPD, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
