Currently, I serve as the VP and Information Officer of Clinical Ancillary Technologies at Kaiser Permanente, a large integrated managed care health system. I lead five clinical technology portfolios, including Pharmacy, Medical Imaging & Informatics, Laboratory, Nursing Informatics, and Medical Device Integration within Kaiser Permanente’s Health Plan entity. I lead the clinical integration of IT, oversee the technology roadmap, and cultivates a vision to stay on the forefront of future technology, patient care delivery, and risk reduction. I also serves on governance committees addressing technology strategy and investment decisions. Notably, as Kaiser Permanente embraces AI, the company implemented an AI-assisted tool for high-risk clinical information on a patent that I received in 2020. Sarang serves on the Advisory Board of Kaiser Permanente Ventures, an $80m investment fund for emerging healthcare technologies, and the Alumni Board of The Ohio State University. He holds a PharmD from The Ohio State University and BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. He also attended the University of Oxford Executive Leadership Program in the UK. Sarang is a Licensed Pharmacist in the State of California.
