The Regulatory Advice Service is a key function within MPI that communicates on a day-to-day basis with New Zealand businesses to support their growth and a thriving economy. We provide competent advice on the regulations that underpin New Zealand\'s food and fibre exports and food imports. This is achieved through delivering guidance, webinars and online tools and through email queries and phone calls. We are undergoing a period of change as we expand into supporting food importers and applying what we have learned to enable New Zealand food and fibre business to successfully export products.In this role I support the Manager and the RAS teams by providing thought leadership, and leading agreed areas of the teamwork program in order to contribute to the achievement of the RAS strategic objectives.

My career has taken me as far north as Prince Rupert in Canada and as far south as Lorenville in Aotearoa New Zealand. I have strong foundations in event management, delivering simple sausage sizzles for Uni students and staff to a large corporate function on the lawns of the Australian High Commission in India to large-scale international conferences and strategic marketing campaigns for diverse audiences. Story telling and sharing the achievements of others gives me a real buzz. I have a great memory for faces and always like to connect like-minded people with each other. Integrity, curiosity, and enthusiasm underpin my approach, along with a commitment to continuous learning and growth. I returned to my hometown of Ōtautahi Christchurch in 2023 after living in our fabulous capital city Pōneke Wellington for 8 years. It is exciting to see a renewed vibrancy in our largest southern city following the 2011 earthquakes and I\'m not surprised to see an influx of people wanting to move here. Currently, I work at the Ministry for Primary Industries where I am proud to contribute to our thriving food & fibre industry.
