ABOUT LUCIANO NUNES LEITE

I’m a Molecular Plant Pathologist focused on understanding plant diseases and finding practical ways to solve them. I’ve worked with many crops, using advanced techniques to detect and control harmful pathogens.In New Zealand, I helped create the first diagnostic test using high-throughput sequencing to find viruses in plant quarantine. I also developed faster, cheaper tests for detecting viruses. My work in forestry research has improved disease monitoring tools, now used in several countries.I’ve been involved in biosecurity, making sure our lab practices follow strict rules. I’ve also trained and worked with teams around the world, from Brazil to Japan, sharing knowledge and improving diagnostic methods.I’m passionate about turning complex science into simple solutions that help farmers and industries.
