Michael Garrity, a career journalist and strategic communications leader, serves as the Department’s chief strategist for public information and external engagement. In this capacity, he produced the 2025 NAAG Presidential Initiative Summit in Portsmouth, NH, curating high-impact panels on the initiative, “Building on the Opioid Litigation Success: AGs Leading the Fight Against Substance Abuse and Drug Trafficking,” and coordinating national receptions and programming for attorneys general and staff. These efforts advanced collaboration on combating opioids, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other illegal drugs, while promoting law enforcement support, prevention, treatment, and strategic use of opioid settlement funds.
