Matt Gorson

Senior Chairman @Greenberg Traurig, LLP

I am Senior Chairman at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, a full service global law firm with more than 1800 attorneys in 32 offices. In addition to management, my primary area of practice is real estate, where I have represented the great majority of large scale highrise developers in the South Florida region. Most notably, my legal work was responsible for setting the stage for the revitalization and development of the S. Beach area of Miami Beach. During my career, I have also worked with the University of Miami and St. Thomas University on real estate issues and served as special counsel to the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, and the Miami Art Museum on special projects. My community involvement focuses on areas in which I can make a difference, particularly in the area of education and mentoring. I led the movement to open a charter school in downtown Miami where I serve as Chairman. I also currently serve as Chairman of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami-Dade. I have previously served on the boards and executive committees of Tulane University (where I am an emeritus trustee) and the United Way of Miami-Dade County. I am also a former board member of the New World Symphony, the City of Miami Downtown Development Authority, Mt. Sinai Hospital and the 11th Judicial Circuit Historical Society.
