About Lorenz Madarang

It started with a failed experiment. It got better when I failed my \"dream\" job.When I was young, I thought that I was going to be a pilot in the Air Force. I wanted to graduate from the United States Air Force Academy. Check. I wanted to get accepted in the pilot training program. Check. Did I have the ability to land a plane during a simulated engine failure (my instructor pilot shut-off the engine while I was landing the plane)? Not Check. I probably should have listened to my gut when I was obsessed, hooked, with crunching the numbers of my undergraduate group capstone project that got selected to present at a Human Factors Engineering conference. I wasn\'t destined for the sky but for outer space. After failing out of pilot training I became an Operations Analyst for a satellite squadron that tracked Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles. My whole world and universe (pun intended) expanded around data. And like a one, two punch combo then I heard about this concept called Data Science. And Game Over. My life changed. Neo taking the red-pill. Bilbo Baggins finding the ring. I became obsessed: Data Science Boot Camps, Masters Degree in Computer Science - Data Science, Cloud certifications. They say that money makes the world go \'round or love makes the world go \'round, but for me, I believe, with a 95% confidence interval, that data makes the world go round. It gives me sheer joy to know a successful data analysis, data project, or data product that I was involved in, helped someone make a better, informed decision. I will fail a couple times before getting there, but I am fine with that.
