ABOUT LYNN GAYNO

Currently an assistant teacher to a class of 17 Kindergarteners at St. Margaret’s Day School; a very small private school in Annapolis. Recently taught PreK to a class of 20 at a local private preschool. It was a privilege to see my young students learn and grow each day. Favorite activities included watching them paint, teaching them writing and reading to them.Formally the Visual Arts Specialist and Museum Educator at the Port Discovery Children\'s Museum in Baltimore. Creative fine artist and experienced art educator seeking a position within the museum education community of the Metro DC Area. Extensive background in art education (grades Pre-K to 8th) and museum education (all ages), including curriculum and program development and implementation, historical research, tour guide, volunteer supervision and staff training,Passionate about making art more accessible to people and teachers in particular who feel they,\"can\'t do art\" let alone teach with it. Dream job is teaching teachers of all subjects how to incorporate area museums\' collections into art integrated lessons in language arts, math, science, history, etc.Previously worked with Historic Londondtown and Gardens doing museum education and the Jamestown Yorktown Foundation doing outreach education. Have also worked for Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens as well as interned with the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage during the SI Folklife Festival on the National Mall.
