ABOUT LAURA OHARA

I\'ve never been the one with The Grand Plan, and I think that\'s actually my superpower. It led me to a career shaped by a genuine love of people, an instinct for organisation, and a desire to be the person who makes things happen. From my early days in change management at Sky and BP, through years in project management offices at some of the world\'s most recognisable banks like Barclays and Lloyds, to the world’s most recognisable legal firms like A&O Shearman and HSF Kramer, I learned that behind every successful initiative is someone quietly holding it all together. That someone was usually me.What I discovered across those big corporate environments is that the work is rarely that different, regardless of the logo on the door. People are navigating the same challenges, wrestling with the same rollouts, and if they\'d talk to each other, they could save themselves enormous amounts of time and effort. That insight is exactly what drew me to ILTA, because that\'s precisely what we do: create the conditions where those conversations can happen. As Europe Coordinator, I\'m the person behind the scenes making sure that our membership can grow and our members can shine. Whether that\'s planning and delivering events across the region, managing the moving parts that bring the community together, or making sure the right people are in the right rooms at the right time, it\'s operational work with real heart behind it.Outside of work, you\'ll find me at the gym, singing (enthusiastically if not expertly) in a local choir, and dragging my kids out for a walk whenever I get the chance.
