ABOUT KRISTY CUBAS

I am an Associate Principal and Project Manager at SCB. With 25+ years of experience, I manage the firm’s extensive work in the public sector, including multi-year relationships with the Chicago Housing Authority and Chicago Public Schools. I am also a leader in the firm’s Campus Environments practice group, overseeing student life projects, campus residential communities, and academic facilities for colleges and universities nationwide. I am responsible for all aspects of technical oversight, management, and communication as well as overseeing the collaborative work that takes place between SCB staff and the Principal-in-Charge during all stages of a project. My priority is to organize and monitor the efforts of the whole project team to keep the project on schedule and on budget. My experience includes new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects across a variety of delivery methods, including public private partnerships (P3). My recent work includes the LEED Gold Academic and Residential Complex (ARC), a mixed-use living/learning community at the University of Illinois at Chicago; and the renovation of Manzanita Hall, an iconic student residence at Arizona State University, which was awarded the SCUP/AIA CAE Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture for Restoration or Preservation. I have a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kentucky and am a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
