ABOUT KLAAS VAN LEEST
I obtained my PhD (Chemistry, cum laude) in 2020 at the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bas de Bruin, and was awarded the Dick Stufkens Prize 2021 by the Holland Research School of Molecular Chemistry. In 2021, I obtained an NWO funded Rubicon grant to perform research as a postdoctoral fellow for two years in the group of Prof. Dr. Chi-Ming Che at the University of Hong Kong. In December 2023 I moved back to the Netherlands as the co-founder and technical director of Lightcore. In November 2024 I started a new adventure as a strategic advisor energy transition in the public sector (Maasdriel). I am very excited to contribute to a more sustainable and clean future! I enjoy motorcycle riding, social gatherings and travel.
