Responsible for the standardization of Health Information Management (HIM) workflows as it relates to Document Management: Scanning, Standardized Clinical Forms; Identity Management; and overall department operations. Lead the consolidation of ten HIM departments to a single MH Team supporting scanning and indexing for both inpatient and ambulatory documentation requirements. Lead the transformation of the work from labor-intensive workflows to a technological solution using Solarity. The utilization of Solarity processing resulted in four to one reduction in staffing and three million annual cost savings, timely indexing, and increased accuracy. Co-Chair the Health Record Integrity Team (HRIT) responsible for the integrity of the legal medical record, including ensuring there is only one patient-one record, for all MaineHealth members that use the Shared Electronic Health Record (SeHR) system. Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to resolve provider requests regarding ease of access and discovery of scanned data. Developed a SharePoint repository of scanning meta-data to better manage, improve, report, train, and reference information. Established the MaineHealth (MH) standards for scanning patient information.Lead the design and development of a web-based DocType Reference Guide in SharePoint that is used by the entire organization. Architect a search feature that enables efficient identification and guidance to scanning staff. Developed a web-based Clinical Forms portal that expanded to include Patient Education Materials. The portal includes technology that merges content for greater than 600 surgical/medical procedures to a single parent-form enabling immediate updating of all forms when The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or our Legal Department required/recommend edits to the standard.
