As the Practice Manager for MaineHealth Cardiology Waterville, my role encompasses the oversight of practice operations for a team of 5 physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Nurses, 4 Patient Service Representatives, 5 Medical Assistants, and 1 Clinical Abstraction Specialist.My responsibilities include onboarding new hires, providing training to team members, and ensuring the implementation of performance improvement plans. Additionally, I handle escalated cases, patient issues, and conduct audits on Press Ganey reports. Coordinating EPIC scheduling templates for all cardiologists and APP staff is also part of my role.I am involved in the development of guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities when necessary, while ensuring appropriate staffing levels at the facility. Effective communication with various levels of management, external contacts, physicians, and staff is a crucial aspect of my role.Utilizing continuous process improvement techniques within the team is essential to seek ever-higher levels of productivity, efficiency, and the delivery of high-quality work.
