ABOUT JULIA BROWN
I graduated summa cum laude from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia with a BBA in Operations and Supply Chain Management in 2023. From there, I became an inventory analyst at Target HQ on the toys team, where I learned how to navigate a complex, nuanced business that requires long-term planning and strategic collaboration to succeed. My role as an IA is to ensure that product arrives in the right quantity, at the right place in our network, at the right time. I work cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, Target India, and vendor partners to ensure the success of the business. I am able to achieve inventory and financial goals by leveraging my ability to place orders, direct inventory to the right location, perform root cause analyses, and partner with both Target and vendor correspondents to align all goals of the business. In 2024, I moved to the Consumer Electronics division, taking on the $700M TV desk, managing TVs, Home Theater, Streaming, Batteries, & Audio Video Accessories, which spans 350+ items and 20+ vendor partners, maintaining an average 91.1% walk-in purchasability (6.8% out-of-stock) position, delivering 580 BPS improvement to gross margin in TVs vs. LY. As Transition Captain, I led my team of peers through transition routines to successfully set 1,039,254 new item/locations across 5 departments at 88.4% WIP on a goal of 78.6% in October 2025.With over 2.5 years of IM experience, I feel confident that the skills I\'ve refined in the Inventory Analyst role will transfer and lend a unique perspective to my next role within the supply/demand planning sector of retail. I also bring a perspective to the table that many analysts do not have - field experience. Working at the DC level as an intern gave me insight into the processes that run Target\'s business and the physical labor and planning required to execute the vision sent down from HQ. My ability to find root cause issues, build Excel grids and tools, lead the IM team in transition discussions, report on the state of the business in roundtable and divisional settings, as well as my strong communication and collaboration skills with vendors and Target partners will provide me with the perfect foundation to explore a new role that will showcase my skills, continue to challenge myself, & impact change based on my learnings and experience.Outside of work, I enjoy fitness (favorites are pilates & pickleball), spending time with my family, friends & mini dachshund, Miley, trying new recipes, & of course, cheering on the Dawgs (back to back national champs!)
