ABOUT JOHN LANCET

John Lancet brings 30 years of hospitality consulting experience to his role as Senior Managing Director at HVS, where he leads the firm’s Southeast U.S. and Caribbean practice. Based in Miami, he has completed more than 1,500 hotel and resort assignments across a wide range of property types, from luxury resorts and branded residences to mixed-use developments and boutique concepts. In addition to his work within the United States, John has performed appraisal or consulting work in 36 North American, South American, and Caribbean countries.Before joining HVS, John managed hotels in South Florida which gives him an understanding of the day-to-day realities of hotel operations. His unique 360-degree view allows him to bridge the gap between data and execution. John’s global outlook and his hands-on operational expertise enable him to provide hospitality advisory services that are both strategically sound and practically effective.With a focus on hotel valuation, feasibility, and strategy, John empowers developers, investors, lenders, and public agencies to make informed decisions about hospitality assets. His consulting expertise extends to litigation support, with his insights and valuations frequently relied upon in courts and arbitration across the United States and the Caribbean.A graduate of Florida International University’s School of Hospitality Management, John now serves on the Steering Committee of FIU’s Hospitality Real Estate Advisory Board (HREAB), where he helps guide the board’s strategic initiatives. He collaborates with other industry leaders and academic faculty to shape curriculum, mentor students, and ensure the program remains aligned with the evolving trends of the hospitality real estate sector.John is a certified general real estate appraiser in Florida (RZ 2554) and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. His reputation is built on delivering thoughtful analysis and actionable strategies that drive meaningful results.
