ABOUT BRIAN AREVALO

Brian leads the Chicago office of HVS Consulting & Valuation, where he specializes in appraisals and hotel consulting across the U.S. Midwest. In addition to leading a team of consultants, Brian has overseen and completed thousands of assignments throughout the United States and abroad. He has contributed to consulting and valuation projects of more than $10 billion of hotel assets, assisting owners, investors, developers, and lenders with in-depth analysis on hospitality projects. He also provides strategic hospitality advisory to municipal and regional governments.Recognized as analytical and insightful, his expertise spans a wide range of hospitality asset classes, including convention headquarters hotels, independent boutique hotels, urban conference hotels, luxury properties, as well as franchised limited- and select-service properties. His client-focused approach leverages his extensive experience in the hospitality industry to provide thoughtful, tailored solutions. Clients have praised Brian’s complex problem-solving abilities, as well as his responsive and respectful communication and follow-through.Brian provides a wide range of hospitality advisory and valuation solutions, including hotel market and demand studies; feasibility analyses for both existing and proposed lodging projects; and USPAP-compliant appraisals and valuations for hotels and motels. His hotel product recommendations can include guestroom count, product type, brand chain scale, guestroom sizes and configuration, food and beverage outlets, and meeting space, as well as additional market-relevant amenities and facilities.With over two decades of experience in the lodging industry and over a decade as a hospitality consultant and commercial appraiser, Brian holds a Certified General Appraiser license in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Iowa.
