ABOUT JACQUELINE KING
My name is Jacqueline (Jackie) King, a Weather and Environmental Sciences Officer in the US Air Force. I have over 5 years of experience in weather forecasting, climatology, and environmental science. I currently serve as a Mission Support Team Lead at Fort Liberty, NC, delivering accurate and timely weather forecasts as well as knowledge of the environment to the members of the US Army\'s 18th Airborne Corps. Before that, I served as a Lead Meteorologist at Shaw AFB, SC leading weather forecasting and product development for South West Asia. My educational background includes a B.S. in Meteorology with a minor in Nuclear Weapons and Strategy from the US Air Force Academy. Additionally, I am taking my final class to complete my M.S. in Environmental Management and Policy with a concentration in Fish and Wildlife Management. Throughout my career, I have provided tailored weather forecasting and environmental data for six continents across various climatic regimes and environments. I have specialized in forecasting weather events across South West Asia, including micro-scale wind patterns to synoptic scale pressure systems. I have also conducted research to answer various environmental questions involving hydrology, trafficability, and more, to key stakeholders. In addition to my work as a meteorologist, I also have an extensive background in problem-solving, planning, and project management, as I was instrumental in establishing processes and procedures for a new department. I have experience with GIS programs, such as ArcGIS, and Microsoft Suite, and programming in HTML, JavaScript, and MatLab. I am passionate about the environment and hope to use my education, job experience, and background to support climate science and environmental research in the future.
