ABOUT HAMID MAHROEIAN

My doctoral research investigated how analytics can enhance learning experiences across higher education in Aotearoa New Zealand, with a particular focus on bridging technological innovation and effective educational practice.I research, teach, and coordinate courses spanning software development, web technologies, data science, systems analysis, and quality assurance. I also lead the Internship and Industry Project programmes for postgraduate students, supporting them to translate theory into practice through meaningful engagement with industry partners. Alongside teaching, I supervise master’s theses and applied research projects, guiding students as they develop expertise in areas that are both academically rigorous and professionally relevant.My research interests include learning analytics, big data, educational technology. These areas reflect my broader commitment to understanding how data-driven insights can inform teaching, learning, and organisational processes.Internationally, I contribute to mirrored course deliveries in our partnered universities and institutes in China and collaborate on projects that strengthen cross-cultural and industry–academic partnerships. I also work closely with colleagues across Whitireia and WelTec to align teaching and supervision with NZQA and Te Pūkenga quality assurance frameworks.I am passionate about helping students succeed, building sustainable links between academia and industry, and advancing research that connects technology to real-world impact.
