I work in an active team where we manage the entire SQL Server Infrastructure of our Company- Installed and maintained SQL Server database systems. Maintaining the database systems includes but is not limited to ensuring successful backups, resolving system issues, opening cases with vendors to resolve issues, monitoring the success and failure of automated jobs, monitoring system availability, and updating system documentation, system, and database recovery- Upgraded SQL Server by reviewing, planning, testing, and installing database security patches and service packs- Migrated and upgraded SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2016 also Develop and customize SQL Server maintenance jobs- Setup and maintenance of appropriate database and application monitoring using the Redgate monitoring tool- Installed and maintained SQL Server database systems. Maintaining the database systems includes but is not limited to ensuring successful backups, resolving system issues, opening cases with vendors to resolve issues, monitoring the success and failure of automated jobs, monitoring system availability, and updating system documentation, system, and database recovery- Implementation and defined Backup and Recovery strategies and Capacity planning following the company\'s Recovery Point Objective (RPO) Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Retention Policy.

Genesis is a detail oriented MSSQL Server & MS Azure DBA who enjoys his profession to the core. Technically, for close to 5 years working as a DBA, he has had the opportunityto perform projects in all aspects of a DBA. Some of these projects include, SQL server Version and Edition Upgrade, Patching, Configuring and managing HA\\DR Solutions(Log shipping, Replication, AlwaysON AG, Mirroring and Failover Cluster Instance, Backup and Restore), Server Optimization projects through Monitoring and Performance Tuning using different tools like Performance Tuning Advisor, Activity Monitor, DMVs, SQL Server Profiler, Extended Event,Event Viewer, SQL Server Error Logs, Performance Monitor, SentryOne, SolarWinds, etc, Projects in the the area of Security(Creating and Managing Logins & Users according to the principle of least privilege, Encrypting databases(TDE, AE, DDM)), SQL Server Installations and Decommissioning, Data Migration from Onprem to Azure and Managing databaseswith IaaS and PaaS services, Builidng and Deploying SSIS packages and managing them, etc. Have worked with SQL Server versions 2008 all the way to 2022.At a personal level, I am result-oriented, a goal-getter, team player, excellent communication skills(both oral and written), diverse cultural background and a fun person.
