ABOUT FLORIN IANCU

With over 20 years of experience in the turbomachinery field, encompassing both academic research and industry applications, I have developed a comprehensive expertise in the design and analysis of complex systems.Since 2005, I have been dedicated to the industrial centrifugal compressor sector, specializing in aerodynamic design. My work includes extensive experimental and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies of compressors, as well as the analysis of various fluid flow phenomena in both compressible and incompressible regimes. From 2009 to 2012, I focused on the study of magnetic bearings in turbomachinery, investigating the behavior of centrifugal compressors equipped with magnetic bearings and analyzing their transient responses and the control demands during these transitional states.Between 2012 and 2014, I expanded my scope as a turbomachinery consultant, enhancing my expertise across a broader range of turbomachinery types. This included designing axial fans, centrifugal pumps, and radial turbines, from preliminary sizing to comprehensive 3D CFD analysis.I remain actively involved in academic research, reviewing papers for several international journals and pursuing my own publications in the field.Specialties:Turbomachinery Design- Axial Fans- Centrifugal Compressors- Centrifugal Pumps- Radial and Mixed Flow Gas TurbinesCFD Analysis- Turbomachinery- Internal and External Flow Phenomena- Compressible and Incompressible Flow- Steady and Transient Solutions- Cavitation StudiesCompressor TestingMagnetic Bearings for Turbomachinery
