ABOUT EMILY ALBERS

I have celebrated over 20 years of work in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability field in Oregon, with experience in case management, agency Program Director, trainer, community and stakeholder engagement. I have an entrepreneurial spirit as well as a strong understanding paired with a deep connection to the big picture of the I/DD systems. I have enthusiastically made connections and relationships with Oregon agencies in the I/DD system since 2002 and have maintained and grown those connections over time. I have had a passion for philanthropy and non-profit organizational development and leadership since beginning my college degree in business administration. I have a solid understanding of budgets, strategic planning, and organizational development. I am assertive, tenacious and a creative visionary. I have transitioned my career in governmental services in grant and project management and community engagement. I am a quick, strategic problem solver and can handle multiple projects and a large workload. Examples of these traits are evident in my experience throughout my career path and professional involvement. I am a compassionate and innovative leader that always strives towards improvement and growth while maintaining quality and happiness within the agency. I have six years in executive leadership and I feel that I have demonstrated a good balance of keeping the individuals we support and the mission and values of the organization front and center while incentivizing and recognizing the challenges of this work. I have created systems, programs, and business practices to adapt to changing Medicaid and state guidelines. I believe in a transparent, team-focused, and person-centered agency playing to each members’ strengths. I am open to other fields of leadership, and areas to use my skills.
