SKILLS
ABOUT MARGARET GARDNER
I have spent several years cultivating learning and resource networks for professional communities of practice. There’s nothing greater than helping people to play a vibrant part in their field while building meaningful relationships. I had the great fortune to work within the OHSU research mission to develop a program to support knowledge, ability and professional community. The result was reduced risk, greater engagement, and increased dedication to organizational goals. Currently, my focus is at Oregon\'s DEQ where I work with a dynamite team to launch a technology solution that will establish a transformative new foundation for the agency, bringing standardization to our business processes and data stewardship, and greater accessibility and transparency to our public service. I’m inspired to be working collaboratively with groups and individuals at Oregon DEQ, and I love discussion that explores and illuminates possibility, fosters learning, and builds inclusive and connected community. These skills have been critical to my success: • Complex problem solving • Critical thinking • Creativity • Communication • Collaboration • Emotional intelligence • Service orientation • Negotiation My specialties: • Curriculum design • Program development • Team building • Facilitation • Project management • Inclusion strategies for engagement • Labor/management relations • Interest-based problem solving • Code compliance • People management • Sustainable and regenerative design In addition to change management work, I like to garden, do creative projects, gather with friends and family, and find vintage treasures. I love meeting new people, discussing ideas, and learning new skills, so please feel free to say hello!
