I am honored to work for Montgomery County\'s Linkages to Learning Program, a partnership between the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Montgomery County Public Schools, and a coalition of non-profits, including the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington. As a Family Care Manager, I assist the parents and caregivers of MCPS students with accessing key resources, so that students and their entire families can succeed in the classroom and beyond.

ABOUT ELYSSA DIAMOND

I completed my MSW degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2013, with a Major Concentration in Management and Community Organizing and Minor Concentration in Clinical Social Work. I have over 20 years of combined experience in the fields of non-profit program coordination, social work, advocacy, community outreach, and bilingual client assistance.I am fluent in Spanish, and I have worked extensively with diverse immigrant populations in a variety of settings. I am highly skilled in macro-level social work, including program and volunteer coordination, legislative advocacy, fundraising, community organizing, and grassroots advocacy for social justice-oriented causes. I am also well-versed in clinical social work skills, with experience working with adults with mental health conditions, staffing both a Mental Health Resource Line and a Crisis Line. In addition, I am an expert in bilingual customer service, which I have honed through providing information and referral, and both in-person and telephone sales. A native of the DMV, I am highly familiar with area non-profits, government agencies, and community services, and have compiled resource lists for non-profits and government agencies. I am passionate about empowering immigrant populations to acclimate successfully to the US. I also have strong interests in human rights and affordable housing, and enjoy volunteering in my community.Finally, I have excellent oral and written communication skills, and I get along well with people of all backgrounds and perspectives.
