ABOUT DAN WILSON
I work with aerospace and defense teams to de-risk ceramic components in systems where failure, inconsistency, or supply disruption is not acceptable. Decisions are firmly grounded in materials engineering, process control, and qualification reality. My focus is on advanced and custom ceramic materials used in high-consequence applications such as RF and IR apertures, radomes, electronic packaging, thermal management, and high-temperature structural components. I regularly engage at the point where material formulation, microstructure, and processing choices directly affect system performance, reliability, and producibility.Much of my work involves:Translating system-level requirements into practical ceramic material and process selectionsSupporting custom material development or tailoring when standard formulations are insufficientAligning material behavior with real operating environments, not just datasheet valuesEstablishing credible qualification and scale-up paths early, before risk is locked inSupporting second-source and industrial-base resilience for long-lifecycle programsI position ceramics not as exotic materials, but as engineered systems where chemistry, microstructure, geometry, and manufacturing discipline must work together. If your program depends on ceramic materials performing predictably over time, at rate, and under scrutiny, I’m always open to a focused technical discussion.
