About Derek Regal
Mr. Derek Regal is a retired Senior Manager of Fuels and Regulatory Issues for Marathon Petroleum which purchased Andeavor / Tesoro in October of 2018 and has 35 years of domestic and international petroleum industry experience. At Marathon, Regal worked closely with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and with various states on fuels regulatory policy. He served as a voting member for the fuels committee of the American Fuels and Petrochemical Manufacturers and is the chairman of the Pacific Northwest fuels committee of the Western States Petroleum Association. He remains a member of the National Council of Weights and Measures on the Fuels and Lubricant subcommittee and had been Andeavor / Tesoro\'s voting member of the American Society for Testing and Materials for gasoline and diesel specifications. In addition to work at Marathon petroleum, Regal is a senior member of the American Society Quality (ASQ) and is certified by ASQ as a Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence. Over the years he has served on multiple technical committees and working groups and is a noted speaker at national conferences. He has also held various board positions including Utah Manufacturers Association, Utah Junior Achievement, Senior Board of Examiners of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Malcomb Baldrige National Quality Award and currently sat on the Board of Directors of the Fuels Institute and remains on the Board of Advisors.Regal holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana University.
