Dan Sampson assists internal and external clients with innovative and cost effective solutions utilizing his extensive development, design, startup, and operating experience. His detailed understanding of industrial water treatment, plant economics and technology provides clients with a “real world” approach to improving plant operations and profitability through detailed cost-benefit analysis.He spends the majority of his time designing water treatment and recovery systems for new and existing plants, modeling processes (mass, chemistry, and cost), performing plant and water systems assessments, creating process improvement and implementation plans, providing training, and mentoring those inside and outside his organization with an interest in his areas of expertise. His experience includes environmental permitting, water rights and water acquisition, new plant development and conceptual engineering, plant construction and commissioning, combined cycle and fossil (coal-fired and gas fired) power plant effluent limitations guidelines (ELGs) compliance and management, coal combustion residual (CCR) compliance and management, plant water and wastewater management, and brine recovery and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems. In addition to conventional power, his broad industry experience includes EOR, UCOG, hydrocarbon processing, CAES, thermal and PV solar power generation, and municipal and industrial recycled water treatment and recovery.His process modeling (thermodynamics, mass, chemistry, and cost) capability is recognized industry-wide for its detail and accuracy. His articles have appeared in many of the industry\'s publications and his technical papers have been presented at many industry conferences. He received the Combined Cycle Users Group\'s Personal Achievement Award for his contribution of knowledge and assistance to the industry and was awarded “Best Overall Paper” at the International Water Conference.
