ABOUT DAVID RINGROSE

An experienced Chief Financial Officer/Finance Director/Deputy Managing Director with strong commercial and corporate experience with over thirty six years in key management roles in Media, Publishing, Printing, Communications & the Telecommunications Industries. Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ACA/FCA). While working for Independent News & Media PLC (INM) for seventeen years in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and Ireland, extensive experience was gained in a diverse range of roles. Managed business divisions and projects, positively impacting all the key areas of the organisations operations, strong day to day financial and management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, restructuring, cashflow/working capital management, corporate finance, change management, continuous improvement, pension, legal, regulatory & IT systems experience. Highlights include: • Sale of Hume Brophy to Private Equity US firm FCP in 2023 • Sale of INM’s South African Group for R2 billion/€180 million in 2013 • Executive and non-executive director of Sunday World 2003 to 2014 • Closed INM\'s Terenure printing facility in 2005 • 5 month secondment for Grant Thornton in the USA in 2017 • Numerous property transactions • Outsourced back office accounting functions • Managed a number of High Court actions and libel cases • Assisted in the restructure of a €360 million loan facility in 2001 • Monitored and controlled 21 restructuring initiatives in New Zealand to 2001 • Complex restructuring of five companies in Melbourne & Sydney 1997 to Trained as an accountant with Farrell Grant Sparks (now part of Grant Thornton) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992.
