ABOUT COLIN GUDGEON

A highly effective Senior Manager with over 25 years of Business to Business (B2B) industrial experience. I have done a lot of things in my career, starting at the lab bench before university, then traveling extensively in oil and gas services (production chemicals initially), still at the lab bench, but often that lab bench was in the middle of the sea or the desert! Even at that time, I was customer focused, which only increased throughout my 20 years in the oilfield; progressing through project coordination, account management and operations management, still in chemicals, before widening my scope to cover all upstream activities of Baker Hughes, both commercially and project execution. After that chapter finished, I made the change into technology - operational technology software, specifically. Key skill areas include- Sales strategy and sales processes- Large Account Management and Account Planning- Customer relationship management- Commercial and Contract Management processes- Operations management- Personnel management and coachingIndustrial experience areas include Oil & Gas and manufacturing segments (F&B and other FMCG, general manufacturing).Technical experience- Chemical selection, application, handling and blending processes- Operational Technology/industrial controls and management softwareAble to combine strong business skills and commercial acumen and technical knowledge with the ability to influence the achievement of mutually beneficial outcomes. Charismatic and dynamic leader able to develop personnel and coach for performance improvement. Sound relationship management with customers and vendors, negotiation. Sales and contract management capability, coupled with a high level of financial literacy. Able to manage complex projects and collaborate across technical and non-technical functions.
