Someone told me early in my career that once I got involved in the food industry I would never look back. Was he right and today there are few things in life I am more passionate about. So many great experiences happen around food with family, friends, and in business. It\'s amazing to know in some distinct and crazy way I play a role in creating them.I have enjoyed food from many dimensions: from consumer packaged goods, ingredients, agriculture, functional foods, and nutraceuticals, to sales, marketing, finance, manufacturing, procurement, and distribution. I have overseen consumer panels, worked with retailers, industrial accounts, national foodservice chains, distributors, universities, and hospitals, through to the mom and pop restaurant in the street. I am thankful that these experiences have given me perspective in doing what I do.I\'m excited about the dynamic changes happening in food, consumer needs/wants, demographics, sales channels, technology, supply side, packing, innovations, and the resulting trends. It\'s truly an amazing time to be a leader in this industry.The one thing I enjoy most about being a leader is building and developing teams to deliver leaps in performance. There has been nothing more rewarding for me in my career than to see teams I have built and worked with come together and win. I have spent my career in leadership roles spanning across functions and in general. I learned along the way that that keys to delivering results are to stay focused on the consumer, enable performance by listening, engaging, communicating, supporting and leading great people, be ruthless with the process and stay close to the numbers. In doing these things great results always follow.Strategy is the easy part but to win in business you need to execute better and faster than your competition, and at the end of the day I believe execution is the difference. My approach in leading is all about creating the foundation for and enabling execution.
