Responsible for the leadership direction of the Actuarial Department at Assurant globally, setting and overseeing department strategy and objectives and effectively coaching, mentoring and developing team. • Work closely with global Business Leaders to ensure department provides actuarial support and guidance on structuring and pricing of new and existing deals, insurance and fee-based products, opportunities, transactions, etc. • Establish standards for and oversee all reserve analyses, including all actuarial opinions needed for the statutory entities. Develops and ensure adherence to reserve controls understanding internal & external conditions and keep current of actuarial practices in the market via consultants, fellow actuaries and other 3rd party sources. • Support finance verticals as appropriate for GAAP, SEC & other regulatory requirements for actuarial reporting. Collaborate with FP & A on planning/forecasting offering guidance on loss ratios and other forecasting.• Represent Actuarial to internal and external customers, including clients, senior management, regulators, auditors, rating agencies, and the Audit Committee of the Board. • Position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is an integral member of Assurant Leadership Team (ALT) and the Financial Leadership Team (FLT).
