With over 45 years of experience in planning, urban design and landscape architecture I love what I do and enjoy each days new challenges and the creative process. I am a hand drawer and do find the mind to hand process of drawing always amazing and fun. Working with thoughtful design forms and relating my ideas to the clients desires and needs yet placed in context with jurisdictional programs and site potentials and constraints is the challenge. Creatively working out the \'big idea\' into land plan or design alternatives and grading sensitively while interfacing land use needs into building massing based upon the terrain and program needs is the process. A education in art has been essential in this process of looking at forms and the grace brought to any project by the visual stimulus and sense of participation brought to all users. Sketches and cross sections along with images of case studies easily bring the understanding of flat plans into reality. Budgets and preliminary costs test the ideas and make them real or not viable. Communication is the final essence of the reality of an idea or solution.it must be a process which allows all parties to interface and successfully listening and then incorporation these ideas into viable and sustaining projects.
