ABOUT WENDY LIAO

With over 25 years’ experience in the Tertiary Education Sector, working in small, medium and large private training institutes, I have developed strong leadership and marketing and sales skills through the different roles within these organizations. I have also gained a good understanding of government policies and processes along with a thorough knowledge of education markets both within New Zealand and globally, which is unique in the industry. As the Group CEO of the New Zealand Skills and Education Group (NZSEG) my focus is on leading the team to make our Vision and Mission thrive through providing quality educational experiences for our students to help them succeed in their life goals. My role at NZSEG covers: • Ensuring the Group’s ROI meeting the requirements of the Board• Ensuring acting in good faith and in the best interests of the Group• Developing and Implementing the overall marketing & recruitment strategy and plan • Building on growth strategy; developing the marketing and recruitment team to ensure the achievement of the Company’s targets and best practices in a competitive market environment. During the 17 years at the Group, we have steady growth within the Group. We remain a student-centric organisation with strong processes and excellent ties to government and relevant industry stakeholders. It’s these networks and our community focus that has led to transformational outcomes for our students as we prepare them for the workforce and higher education. The three institutes comprising NZSEG put a focus on providing a pathway for students into higher education and the workplace. The skills we teach are portable; meaning they can be taken anywhere in New Zealand or around the world and be applied to learners’ future lives and careers. For more information see our website:
