ABOUT VIRGINIA GOMEZ ARRUE AZPIAZU

As a seasoned IT Agile Project Manager with over two decades of experience, I specialize in steering large-scale, complex projects to success across global teams. My career is marked by a strong track record in managing full project life cycles. Currently at MathWorks, I lead the strategic alignment of Agile teams spanning Asia, Europe, and America. My role as a Scrum Master involves facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving continuous improvement through root cause analysis. I have been pivotal in defining and implementing the end-to-end process to manage IT Security vulnerabilities in the teams I lead as well as the IT cloud strategy, managing infrastructure projects on AWS and Azure, and ensuring seamless application migration, all while maintaining a keen focus on KPI management and risk mitigation. At Mitchell International, managed the IT security hardening program. I successfully launched the Intelligent Estimating Solution on the Google Cloud Platform, earning the Spot Award. My role also included the implementation of the data center discovery and CMDB tools. In a previous role at MathWorks, I managed the design, construction, and migration of all IT infrastructure for the company\'s new sqft HQ campus, supporting employees. This project involved comprehensive planning and execution of network infrastructure, data centers, and various facilities, with regular updates to the company\'s leadership. My earlier experiences at Euskaltel and British Telecom involved leading critical corporate projects and managing B2B website developments, while my consultancy work at PriceWaterhouse Coopers laid a strong foundation in CRM design and development. Fluent in Spanish and English, with intermediate proficiency in French and Basque, I hold a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Deusto University, Spain. Certified as a Professional Scrum Master and Lean Six Sigma White Belt, I am passionate about leveraging my skills to drive innovation and deliver impactful results. Additionally, I am proud to have earned the AWS Certified AI Practitioner Early Adopter certification, which underscores my commitment to staying at the forefront of AI and cloud technologies.
