ABOUT VERONICA MAGGISANO

I\'ve had the privilege of helping to develop, finance, design and build some of the largest and most influential properties in Canada.Had you asked me when I was studying Engineering if I would one day have a career in commercial real estate development as Vice President of Development at Oxford Properties Group, I couldn\'t have imagined it. But had you asked me if I would one day devote a significant part of my career to building teams and supporting the growth of ambitious and inventive Canadians, I would have said that was very likely. My contributions at Oxford range from building a specific project to master-planning and envisioning the future of an entire city. My role is effectually dynamic as we plan to build future communities where all citizens can thrive in urban realms. Our communities are evolving with integrative technologies to become smarter, with new transportation networks that will minimize the environmental impacts of how we move around. I\'m lucky to be at the forefront of the movement towards smarter cities. I\'m also lucky to be in a position to champion for women in commercial real estate development. Women tend to excel in collaborative environments where confident communication skills, team leadership and creative thinking are central to success. As an \"opportunity builder\", I rely on my innate capacity for active listening and value hearing different opinions and perspectives in order to develop solutions.I welcome the opportunity to meet and learn from like minded people, those who think differently and those looking to break into the industry.
