ABOUT TRAVIS BURGESS

From being a player development agent, to timeshare lead generation, and being on the management team for a mattress retail store, I’ve quickly been able to develop skills (particularly in sales) across vastly different industry’s. Doing lead generation for the Walt Disney company as an advanced sales associate for Disney Vacation Club, taught me how to deal with constant rejection, how to read people (through conversation or from afar) and how to be a true brand ambassador for the company. I was able to succeed in my role and even got the achievement for being a top performer multiple times. Unfortunately the pandemic lead me to a new career path that I’ve found to be a great fit so far. Going into the mattress industry with no retail experience and no knowledge of mattresses whatsoever caused me to quickly adapt and overcome the challenge of inexperience. I made a commitment to myself to succeed and did so by seeking out mentors, taking the initiative to learn from brand representatives, and by being competitive with my fellow associates. I quickly worked up to an assistant store manager position where I now take on the challenge of managing two locations, being the lead for new hire training, and providing myself as a resource for my associates, and associates at other locations. I proved myself by becoming a multi time $100k writer, being on the MattressFirm top 50 writers list on 4 separate occasions, doing over 3 million dollars of revenue in just over three years, and taking opportunities that will further develop my skills such as, being a brand ambassador for the events and expositions team multiple times, Working PR events, and volunteering to star in training videos. I am the definition of a team player, a great asset to any management team, and strive to be a top performer in anything and everything i do. Career highlights.
