Our council is one of the largest organizations in Atlanta as measured by the number of youth served and the size of our volunteer workforce. The primary role of the council is to lead and support over amazing and dedicated volunteers in the Scouting program who deliver high quality youth development services to over youth in 700 Scouting program sites in metro Atlanta. My specific role is to serve as the lead professional for a talented and dedicated team of 80 total staff members that lead all operations of the council. Our council is in the segment of the largest 10 of the 250 councils in the BSA system. We manage over acres of camps in the north Georgia mountains, on Lake Allatoona and near Covington. Our board is comprised of leading business executives from Coca-Cola, AT & T, Chick-fil-A, Lockheed Martin, AGL, Georgia Power, Southern Company, Primerica, Graphic Packaging, Oxford Industries, UPS, Printpack, Genuine Parts, Waffle House, Home Depot and many prominent mid-size businesses including top law and accounting firms.Our focus is bringing high-quality programs to youth from families of all neighborhoods of metro Atlanta. Our council recently rejuvenated Bert Adams Scout Reservation as a result of a successful $15MM capital campaign.
